Filing periods for Moore, Norman open
Paula Roberts, secretary of the Cleveland County Election Board announced recently that the filing period for Moore's municipal election will open Monday and continue through Wednesday.
Municipal seats open in Moore include Mayor, city council seats for wards 1, 2 and 3.
Roberts said the filing period for Norman's municipal election will open Jan 14 and continue to Jan. 16.
Municipal seats open in Norman include city council seats for wards 2, 4, 6 and 8.
Candidates may file their paperwork 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the three-day period at the Cleveland County Election Board office, 122 S. Peters Ave., in Norman.
The filing fee for the Norman seats is $50, she said, and must be paid in the form of a certified check made payable to the "Secretary of the Cleveland County Election Board."
There is no filing fee for Moore's election.
Persons interested in filing for the office may obtain Declarations of Candidacy at the Election Board office.
