Bloomberg Discusses Iowa: "Democracy Alive and Well"
The most famous undeclared presidential candidate, our very own Mayor Michael Bloomberg, has weighed in about the Iowa caucus results. Okay, so Mayor Bloomberg claims he's not running for president, have a staff that's investigating the possibility of running a campaign, and have a billion dollars to spare...

The Mayor discussed the results(he didn't mention candidates by name) during radio show on WABC (MP3). Well, sort of - City Room some of the Mayor's comments. Like:
It’s the beginning of a long process. I have no idea who’s going to I win. I’m not in the business of handicapping, but I think it shows that democracy is alive and well in America, that you have a diversity of candidates from different backgrounds and different views, and I would just like to get them to address the important issues with more specificity of what they’d actually do to solve the problem of who’s going to pay for health care, and what are we going to do overseas, and how are we going to keep our economy — which seems to be slowing down — how we’re going to get that going again, and how we’re going to make sure that everybody shares and that the tax burden is fairly distributed.

The Daily Politics pointed out this zinger the Mayor added:
The first week in February there will be lots of primaries, all the same day, and I don’t know if we’ll have anybody picked by then. It could very well go off into, well into March. But see democracy at work — that’s what’s wonderful about America.
Hmm!
In the meantime, the Mayor is getting ready for his trip to Oklahoma to discuss the idea of a third party bid with other Demcorats and Republicans - which he claims is to give the "public the information they need to make intelligent choices" and not about being a third party candidate himself. Well, we remember when he said in 2006, answering a question about running for president, "Absolutely not... And anybody who's running will say exactly that."
And last night, he appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman to present a key to the city - to Letterman's beard!
