Dustin understands what it means to work hard and build a family business. His parents and grandparents are small business owners who instilled in Dustin the appreciation for hard work and helping others.

Dustin’s proven record began at an early age: 18. That year, he registered as a Republican and ran for mayor of his hometown. Citizens of Tishomingo liked what Dustin stood for and, even more, what he helped accomplish for their community. Dustin became the nation’s youngest mayor and served successfully for two terms.

Dustin worked for U. S. Senator Don Nickles in Washington, D.C. Later Dustin and his wife, Nicole, moved to Stillwater to work on Wes Watkins’ successful congressional campaign. At the age of 22, Dustin was named District Director for the newly-elected Republican congressman.

Dustin obtained his bachelor’s degree from East Central University in Ada and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma. For the past decade he has been practicing law on Main Street in the community where he was raised and loves to call home. He also serves as city attorney and prosecutor to several small towns in the second congressional district.

Dustin and Nicole are the parents of two children, Price and Madison. The Rowe family are active members in the Tishomingo First Assembly of God church where Dustin has attended since he was eight years old.

The Obama campaign and the rest of the Democrats have a lot chutzpah to blame this economic crisis on the Republicans. Obama stated in a speech that John McCain blamed him for this mess. If Obama didn't cause this mess he sure did benefit from it and now he's attacking McCain for it? His campaign is a "Who's Who" of people from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Not to mention the amount of money he received for his campaign that came directly from those companies. Obama says that McCain, by his own admission, doesn't know much about the economy. At least McCain is honest enough to admit it. No one is bringing up the critical question of how much Obama knows about the economy, which is bupkis. The only thing he knows about the economy is how to exploit the corruption to fund his campaign.

Recount asked in Blaine County sheriff's race

Blaine County Sheriff Ricky Ainsworth, who lost by one vote in Tuesday's primary election, has asked for a recount.

Ainsworth filed the $600 fee, and a recount is set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, said Jane Crawford, the county's election board secretary.

Unofficial results showed challenger Tony Almaguer defeating Ainsworth, 451 to 450, in the Republican primary.

The manual recount will be overseen by the election board and a judge. The winner will face Democrat Travis Daugherty in the November general election.

NORMAN CITY COUNCIL ELELCTION VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE APRIL 18, 2008

Friday, April 18, 2008, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the May 13, 2008, City of Norman Primary, City of Norman Special & Cleveland County Special Election, Cleveland County Election Board Secretary Paula G. Roberts said today.

Roberts said that persons who are United States citizens, residents of Oklahoma and at least 18 years old may apply to become registered voters.

Persons who have never been registered to vote before or who are not currently registered in the county of their residence and persons who are registered but who need to change their registration information may apply to register or to change name or address or political affiliation by filling out and mailing an Oklahoma Voter Registration Application form in time for it to be postmarked no later than midnight Friday, April 18. 2008.

Roberts said that applications postmarked after that time still will be accepted and processed, but the applications will not be approved until after May 13, 2008.

The County Election Board will respond in writing to each person who submits an application for voter registration. The response will be either a Voter Identification Card listing the new voter’s precinct number and polling place location or a letter that explains the reason or reasons the application for voter registration was not approved. Roberts said that any person who has submitted a voter registration application and who has not received a response within 30 days should contact the County Election Board Office.

Oklahoma Voter Registration Application forms are available at the County Election Board office located at 122 S. Peters Avenue, Norman, and at all tag agencies, post offices, and public libraries in the county.
