Blaine County Sheriff Ricky Ainsworth, who lost by one vote in Tuesday's primary election, has asked for a recount.Ainsworth filed the $600 fee, and a recount is set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, said Jane Crawford, the county's election board secretary.
Unofficial results showed challenger Tony Almaguer defeating Ainsworth, 451 to 450, in the Republican primary.
The manual recount will be overseen by the election board and a judge. The winner will face Democrat Travis Daugherty in the November general election.
