Remember the Cole !

Hat Tip to my Twitter Friend Conbelle @ Conservative Belle

Today is exactly 8 years since the terrorist attack of the USS Cole (DDG-67) Navy destroyer off the coast of Yemen.

No mention in the media today of this tragedy, so far.

Shameful - particularly since those who planned and perpetrated these actions are still free and the victims have not seen justice.

For all those who served on her during this tragedy and to the victims' families, my heart goes out to you on this day. Their memories and their service are not lost on this private citizen.
MOTTO
GLORIA MERCES VIRTUTIS

"GLORY IS THE REWARD OF VALOR" underscores the spirit of Sergeant Darrell S. Cole, his extraordinary heroism, his unwavering loyalty to his country, and his bravery in facing adversity without fear.

"A DETERMINED WARRIOR"
Richard Newcomb of Newsbusters.org rightfully points out that there has been no media attention to this and reminds us of the decade of attacks, which included the USS Cole.
However, then-President Bill Clinton did not respond to the attack on the Cole, emboldening the Islamists who viewed the United States as a paper tiger.

The attack on the Cole was one of a series of attacks on Americans throughout the decade of the 1990s to which the United States failed to respond. This eventually led to al-Quaeda and its allies decided to attack the Twin Towers in 2001.

Unfortunately for them, President George W. Bush took a different view, correctly deciding to respond with military force.

Since 2001, there have been no further successful atttacks on American soil, though we remain engaged in a military offensive against the Islamic terrorists.
May we pay honor and glory to their heroism, bravery and determination on this day.

Thank-you for Remembering the Forgotten Cole attack. As the father of Gary G. Swenchonis, Jr. who was murdered in that attack we really thank you from our hearts.
Our site at http://terrorismpolitician.blogspot.com has his picture and the news that our senators just told us that a Judiciary Hearing will be held next year. I will beilieve it when I see it.
