a client is involved in child pornography passed the House of Representatives today.
House Bill 2590, by state Rep. Ken Luttrell, protects a repair business from lawsuits if employees discover a client is involved in child pornography using a computer, VCR, DVD player, slide projector or cell phone.
"This bill will keep individuals from exploiting our
children in such a sick and horrifying way," said
Luttrell, D-Ponca City. "This will encourage these
business owners to help expose these sick individuals
without having to worry about any lawsuits filed by
the perpetrator. We want to make it easy as possible
for pedophiles to be prosecuted. This bill protects
our greatest asset: Oklahoma's children."
Luttrell said his bill was a request from the local
police department.
House Bill 2590 passed the House unanimously and
goes to the state Senate for a hearing.
