Howard to file for clerk


Tammy Howard, Cleveland County clerk, said recently she will seek election to the post.

Howard, a Republican, has held the position of county clerk since being appointed by Cleveland County commissioners in 2007.

"As your county clerk I will continue to seek out new innovative ways and finding cost saving solutions in running the county clerk's office in unison with the other elected officials." she said.

Howard brings more than 19 years experience with Cleveland County government.

She also has served as a Slaughterville Town Trustee and is a member of chamber of commerces, Norman Rotary Club and various county government associations.

Howard resides in Slaughterville with her husband, three children and two grandchildren.

Hudson announces for Cleveland County Clerk

Kerrie Hudson has announced her candidacy for the office of Cleveland County Clerk. The clerk will take office in January 2009.

A Republican, Hudson said she offers more than 25 years experience in the county clerk's office. She has spent the past 25 years learning all aspects of the county clerk's office. Hudson began her career with the Cleveland County Clerk's office at age 17.

In 2006, Hudson went to work for the Oklahoma County Clerk's Office as a special projects manager. She helped plan, organize and manage several records preservation projects and learned "best practices" through her affiliation with national associations.

In 2003, Hudson received her advanced county clerk certification through Oklahoma State University's County Training Program and continues to receive training and development in order to further her education.

Hudson is a lifelong resident of Cleveland County. Hudson and her husband Kenny will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary this year. They have two sons. Kody is a freshman at Norman North High School and Kole is a sixth-grader at Alcott Middle School. They are members of First Baptist Church, Norman and active in various activities.
