State School Superintendent Sandy Garrett will be acting governor of Oklahoma for a short time this week.
Gov. Brad Henry and Lt. Gov. Jari Askins will be out of state to attend tomorrow's BCS National Championship game between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Florida.
Senate President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee and House Speaker Chris Benge will also attend the game and Attorney General Drew Edmondson is out of the country.
That leaves Garrett as the top elected official.
Edmondson is due back in the state tomorrow night and will then become acting governor.
