Mick Cornett to be on 'Ellen'

Ellen DeGeneres will have a local dance partner next week.

OKC Mayor Mick Cornett is going on the Ellen show on Jan. 17 to talk about his initiative to help metro residents lose weight.

Cornett said, "I really look at it as a great opportunity to talk about health in a positive atmosphere and about Oklahoma City, and that can be really valuable to the city."

DeGeneres is known for dancing it up -- at least for a few seconds -- with whomever appears on her show.

Ellen comes on weekdays at 9 a.m. on KOCO-5.
